Discover Basque Region of Urdaibai through sport activities!

Located on the Bay of Biscay coast, not far from Bilbao in the north of the Iberian Peninsula, the Urdaibai estuary is a territory of 220 km2 that was declared Biosphere Reserve of Biscay by the UNESCO. It is a natural region that shelters the biggest landscape and ecological diversity of the Basque Country. It is characterized by small streams surrounded by high sheer cliffs and by diverse beaches: from large sandy areas to small coves, each one has its own charm that we encourage you to discover!
All these rivers and beaches allow the organization of a wide range of sporty team-building activities. It is an original way to improve the communication in a group, to motivate a team or simply to get to know each other by discovering a region and its hidden treasures. Here you will find some examples of available activities.

  • Kayaking and Canoeing along Urbaidai River

This is the best way to visit Urdaibai from the inside. Lead by a guide or just assisted by a professional instructor at the beginning, you will be given all the equipment and explanations needed for an excursion of 2 or 3 hours that will bring you through some of the most picturesque places in Urdaibai from Arteaga to Laida, a beautiful beach of golden sand dunes.
This trip is suitable for all kind of groups, even for beginners, the only point is to know how to swim!

 

  • multi adventureMulti Adventure

The Multi Adventure activity is an amusing way to test your balance skills through some funny challenges: a climbing initiation until the top of a mountain following by a descent by zip-line or an archery competition. Of course, during the 2 hours of activities, the group will be accompanied by a professional instructor and will be given all the material needed as well as the safety measures to follow.

 

  • Surfing

There no need to be an experienced surfer to go to enjoy some waves! The calm beaches of Laida and Laga are perfect places to start out. You can even take some lessons in groups with a professional instructor before going to practice by yourself. On the other hand, if you already are a confirmed surfer, you may prefer to go to look for the waves of Mundaka, the world famous town renowned for its surfing scene which was even one of the sites of the World Championship Tour of Surfing!
