The year 2014 has been the most successful in terms of tourism for the Costa del Sol and its capital city, Malaga. The have achieved their highest amount of tourists in history: more than 10 million of visitors, 7,3% more than in 2013.
After 10 years of regression, the tourism in this part of the south of Spain has gained momentum again, and this has been reflected into the economy. The spending of the tourists (hotel, restaurants, transport, shopping…) has generated more than € 7,000 million.
Why tourists choose Malaga and the Costa del Sol? It is easy, due to the wonderful climate, the quality of the services and the beautiful landscapes. Moreover, more and more some meetings and incentives trips are being undertaken there, so nowadays there is not only regular tourism, but also MICE tourism.
