After Paris, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Bucharest and London, the Austrian chain K + K HOTELS takes the first step to expand into southern Europe by opening a new hotel in Barcelona. K+K is a family business founded in 1961 whose focus has been, until now, the Central European countries where the company already owns nine hotels in eight cities.
Inaugurated in June 2012, the hotel K+K Barcelona is located in one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city, the Born district, bordering the Ciutadella Park. The avenue called the Paseo Picasso was designed in 1872 by Josep Fontseré I Mestres and is characterized by high porches requiring buildings to retreat and giving a way to pedestrians. This area is an ideal point of departure to discover the fascinating condal city, the “Ramblas”, the cathedral “Santa Maria del Mar”, the beach promenades and the port.
K+K Hotels offer high quality service in the heart of the European capitals. The added value of their establishments lies in a close collaboration between architects and international artists that provide an atmosphere of comfort with warm, modern and stylish spaces. Thus, for the K+K Barcelona, the chain has selected the architecture firm Wortmann Architects to plan and manage the project that is designed in a way that it is perfectly integrated into the historic urban development by ensuring a similar appearance to that of the neighboring buildings. In addition, the interior design studio R-Interiors, led by Rachel Beckett and based in London, was responsible for the selection of materials and interior furnishings.
The K+K Barcelona features 92 rooms including five suites. In addition, it houses two meeting rooms for up to 50 people equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual and teleconferencing capabilities, a bar, a heated rooftop pool to enjoy spectacular city views, a private underground parking, and much more other facilities that you can discover in details of the Hotel K+K Barcelona.
