‘La Boqueria’ is the most important food market in Barcelona. Located at the ‘heart’ of the popular Ramblas, some years ago it became a main attraction for the visitors to the city.
From this month to further, tourists will not have it as easy to enter the market. The City Council has decided to ban the entrance of group of tourists during the weekends, from the opening of the market until 3pm, when it closes. This will not work in the weekdays.
This new ordinance has been approved after the sellers of the market complained that the presence of so many tourists made it difficult for the habitual clients to walk through the market.
