Next summer Catalonia will receive more than 200 flights from the East of Europe every week. This means 100 more flights per week than last summer, according to the previsions of the Catalan Tourism Agency.
Eastern European tourists are more and more choosing to visit Catalonia, but they are no the unique visitors that do it. In fact, the 25% of tourists that travel to Spain go to Catalunya, so this make this region to be the most attractive in Spain, ahead of the Balearic and Canary islands.
The increase of flights will be mainly thanks to the aero line Vueling, which will charter four flights per day to Moscow and three per week to Saint Petersburg and Kiev.
Catalonia is especially liked by Russian people. 745.000 Russian tourists visited this autonomous region last year and this number will increase in 2013. As a result, Catalunya has become the third touristic destination most chosen by Russians, ahead of Turkey and Egipt.
