At the fifth floor of the commercial center “CC Las Arenas” located Plaza España, La Cúpula is a unique and ideal venue for all type of events. Inaugurated in July 2011, it is considered as one of the largest dome in Europe with its 27 meters high and 2.588m2 of open-plan space offering a magnificent viewpoint upon Barcelona.
Las Arenas is part of the living History of Barcelona. The building was born in 1900 as a bullring of 52 meters of diameter. One century later it was reconverted in a Commercial Center configured as a new public space dedicated to leisure, shopping and entertainment. Today, Las Arenas is a 6 floors shopping mall with 115 shops and a spectacular dome, La Cúpula, that covers the entire building and emerges from the surface.
It is possible to access directly to the Cúpula from the commercial center by using the escalators, the panoramic elevators or the high capacity elevator. Made of wood and glass that let enter the light all the day, La Cúpula includes three main spaces: the Multipurpose Central Zone, the Backstage and the Reception.
The Central Zone is the most important part of the complex, it is where all the events take place. It is a free and circular room with a 25 meters radius and and a total surface of 1.911,78m2 that can welcome 1600 to 2000 persons. The backstage is mainly used as a working zone for each event and equipped with a kitchen, a cloakroom and a common zone. Finally, the reception is 140m2 space that represents the front door to the main central space. All these zones are completely free and can be equipped and arranged according to the specific needs of the client.
With the reception of important events such as the introduction of the last HTC Smartphone during the World Mobile Congress, the representation of the musical Grease or the BMW Car Exhibition, la Cúpula turns out to be one of the greatest venues of the Condal City!
