Since 1980, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27. This date was chosen as that day in 1970, which adopted the Constitution of the World Tourism Organization. The approval of these laws is considered a milestone in world tourism. The main purpose of World Tourism Day is to promote awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic.
The date of the World Tourism Day is particularly appropriate because it corresponds to the end of tourist season in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of the season in the southern hemisphere, when tourism is currently the subject of hundreds of thousands of people around the world belonging to all sectors of society, for tourists and in particular to the operational sector.
