The Principality of Andorra is a country located in the South of Europe between Spain and France, in the Pyrenees. With origins that go back to Charlemagne’s reign, it is one of the world’s smallest states (468km2). After having been isolated for a long time, Andorra appears today as a powerful touristic destination that has mainly developed thanks to its exceptional natural surroundings and its advantageous tax system. The Principality is also well-known for shopping and most of all for its ski slopes and all its summer sports activities.
As Andorra is located in the Oriental Pyrenees, it is surrounded by mountains and encloses 62 peaks of more than 2000m and more than 30 lakes on its territory. Nature lovers will enjoy the most beautiful landscapes such as the Vall del Madriu, world heritage since 2004 and all the activities available: forests packed with adventures, climbing, trekking, canyoning, guided trips, mountain bike routes, fishing and much more! And when winter comes, Andorra offers a wide variety of ski resort and off-piste activities to make the most of the Andorran snow! Among its 5 main ski stations, Grandvalira is the largest ski resort of the Pyrenees including 7 different stations that combine more than 200km of ski slope.
In addition, the architectural patrimony is remarkable and represents another touristic motivation. Indeed, from the beautiful roman inspiration churches (Sant Joan de Caselles, La Cortinada …) to the Cristal de Caldea Pyramid, Andorra combines perfectly tradition and modernism. Moreover, the recent return of hydrotherapy in Esacaldes with Caldea (its thermals and all kind of wellness and relaxing treatments) complete a rich offer of leisure activities.
