Barcelona will not ban the opening of new hotels

Finally, the Barcelona City Councill will allow companies to open new hotels in the city. However, the new hotels will only be built in the city areas not saturated by tourism.

The first decision of the government was to ban the opening of new hotels in the whole city, but finally the prohibition will not be that strict.

Although we still do not know in which city areas new hotels will not be opened, probably this zones will be Ciutat Vella (the Old Town), Plaza Catalunya and the surrounding streets and the Sagrada Familia neighbourhood.

Let’s wait until the conclusive information to be published by the City Council, but at least we know that Barcelona will welcome new hotels in the majority of the city neighbourhoods.
